January 23 | 6:30pm
As the rates of anxiety, depression, and other mental health struggles increase in our students, it can be difficult as a parent to know how to respond. New Hope cares deeply about our parents being equipped to support their children's mental health, which is why we have invited Reverend Jeremiah Peck, who is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and works in the Counseling department at Multnomah University to speak to us on the topic. He will be sharing practical insights about how to recognize, respond to, and support students experiencing mental health related struggles including feelings of anxiety, depression, low self-worth, and thoughts related to self-harm or suicide.
This class will be valuable in helping parents aid students who are currently struggling with mental health and proactively equipping parents to help their children (or others' children) in the future.
Located at New Hope Church in the Student room.
Preferred entrance is downstairs near the playground.
The event is free and dessert will be provided.
No childcare available.
