Come to Recovery at New Hope, and you will meet others who have made the decision to reclaim and reorder their lives from the ravages of compulsive, addictive behaviors such as gambling, shopping, internet and other pornography, alcohol, illegal & prescription drugs, work, and food & eating disorders. You’ll also meet fellow sojourners who are seeking relief from the crushing weight of anger, depression and pain in their lives.
We believe that we were created to worship God and that He is the center of His story. The difficulties we experience in life eventually turn into brokenness, dysfunction, and the coping mechanisms of addictive behavior. Somewhere along the timeline of our lives –often without realizing it– we find that we’ve replaced Christ with another person, another “god” (a substance, work, etc.) maybe even our self… and life has begun to spin uncontrollably out of balance. It was not planned to be that way. We were not created to be that way.
One component of our recovery ministry is our small, intensive groups. These are 12-week small groups that dig deep into difficult and seldom-discussed areas of life, such as abuse, addiction, and trials of all sorts. Another component of our weekly gatherings are our 12-step groups. These groups are in place for those who have come from an “AA” background, or desire a 12-step approach to recovery. Depending on the curriculum of the group you choose, they meet weekly anywhere between 16 weeks and eight months. Our step groups are Christ-centered and recognize Jesus Christ as our one, true Higher Power.
Our purpose is to move people towards encountering God in the gospel. Come experience refreshment and renewal… this is Recovery at New Hope!
