National Night Out Volunteer - Set Up

Time Commitment: 2 hours on August 3 from 4:00-6:00pm

Portland Homeless Family Shelter

Number of Volunteers Needed for Role: 8

Description: Put together a dinner once a month. Also a lunch once a month if able.

Time Commitment: Dinner once a month, Lunch once a month

Dinner usually cooked in the Church kitchen. Delivered by 5:30pm. Estimated 2 ½ hours. 3:30–5:30pm. Second Monday of each month

Lunch usually made at homes and brought to Church to be put together and delivered by 11:30pm.

  • Engaging with people – team of both New Hope and community people
  • Midweek
  • Daytime and evening
  • Cooperative
  • Regular commitment (at least monthly)

Neighbor to Neighbor

Description: Through Neighbor to Neighbor we aid people living in homes who need extra help with yard and home due to being elderly/widowed/single parent/handicapped. We serve people within our church and those in the community.

Time Commitment: 4 hours every second Saturday of the Month

  • Behind-the-scenes and Engaging with people
  • Weekend
  • Daytime
  • Cooperative
  • Regular commitment (at least monthly)

Neighborhood Connection Team

Number of Volunteers Needed for Role: 6

Description:  This team meets with neighbors to plan joint events/projects such as National Night Out, Blood Drives, Trunk or Treat, etc.

Time Commitment:  Once a month meetings plus event help

  • Daytime and evening
  • Practical and cooperative
