Middle School Leader

Numbers of Volunteers Needed for Role: 6

Contact Name & Email: Nathan Meeker, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Description: Middle school students are the best and getting to work with them is awesome. It is such an important time of transition in people’s lives as they move from childhood into adolescence and getting to walk with them through those changes is a blessing. You do not have to have any special skills or be particularly relevant to help lead students, you only need to love Jesus, care about young people, and be willing to invest consistent time into building relationships (and pass a background check).

There are lots of ways leaders can help, including volunteering at Student Community Gatherings, leading Life Groups, and helping chaperone events, but not all volunteers are expected to help with all those things. If that sounds doable to you, I would love to talk to you more about the possibility of helping in the Middle School Community.

Time Commitment: 1-3 hours a week, depending on how involved you would like to be, and occasional events when able.

Attributes/Characteristics of the role:

  • Engaging with people
  • Midweek and/or Weekend
  • Mostly evening
  • Cooperative
  • Regular Commitment (at least monthly)

Next Steps: Set up a meeting with the Pastor of Student Community, Nathan Meeker to talk about volunteering and discuss next steps.

Description: Getting to work with high school students is super fun. They are moving from adolescence into adulthood and getting to walk with them through that is a great privilege. They start asking important questions and making important decisions about life and having good mentors to come alongside them during this time is vital. You do not have to have any special skills or be particularly relevant, you only need to love Jesus, care about young people, and be willing to invest consistent time into building relationships (and pass a background check).

Student Community Event Chaperone

Description: Do you enjoy working with students and serving the church, but can’t commit to helping out regularly? Or maybe you’re a parent who would like to help in the Student Community but wants to give your student their own space at the church. Maybe you just really like preparing large meals or can drive a bus. If that sounds like you, we would love to be able to reach out to you when the student ministry has events. It’s no big time commitment, and you can say no whenever you need to, but having a short list of people to call when we need a few more chaperones for a special event would be tremendously helpful

Time Commitment: Up to you

Attributes/Characteristics of the role:

  • Behind-the-scenes and engaging with people
  • Midweek and weekend
  • Mostly evening
  • Cooperative
  • Commitment: As-needed

Next Steps: Set up a meeting with the Pastor of Student Community, Nathan Meeker to talk about volunteering and discuss next steps.
